What We Believe
According to the scriptures, we believe that Melchizedek of Genesis 14:18-20 truly existed.
He was not a part of the nation of Israel, for they were still in the loins of Abram. We consider him to be a gentile who knew God and was chosen by God to be a priest. We do not have access to his Theological views, but we are sure of one thing, God must have been pleased with the order of Melchizedek for Him to name his son as High Priest to that order. Which mean the order still exists because Jesus is yet alive, and eternal.
Therefore, all scripture is by the inspiration of God Himself. “But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.” Job 32:8 “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for [c]instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2Ti 3:16
“To you it was shown, that you might know that the LORD Himself is God; there is none other besides Him.” Deut. 4:35
“Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that the LORD Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.” Deut. 4:39
“I am the Lord, and there is no other; There is no God besides Me. I will gird you, though you have not known Me, That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the Lord, and there is no other;” Isa 45:5-6“Therefore You are great, [f]O Lord God. For there is none like You, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears.” 2Sam 7:22
“that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other.“ 1Kings 8:60
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” Jhn 17:3
“Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one. For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” ICor 8:4-6
“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!” James2::19
“For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,“1Tim 2:5
“Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.” Gen. 14:18
“For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,” Heb 7:1
“So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:
“You are My Son,Today I have begotten You.” As He also says in another place: “You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek”; Heb 5:5-6“called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,” Heb 5:10“Where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” Heb 6:20
“you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1Pet. 2:5
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”1 Pet. 2:9
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.” Isa. 65:17
“Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” 2 Pet. 3:13
“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.” Rev. 21:1
“and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” Rev. 1:5-6
“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” Rev. 20:6
